PEW從2002年開始注意Blog的發展,進行長期研究(longitudinal study)。在2004年底時,PEW曾進行2次大樣本研究,有效樣本達1,324人,並與當年2月份的數據做比對,可看出blog的使用者(包含作者與讀者)以驚人速率成長,大有可能成為網路最重要的訊息擴散平台。
